Ekata Telehealth

Telehealth informed consent

Overview

Ekata Telehealth PLLC provides psychiatric evaluations, medication management, and supportive psychotherapy via secure video to adult patients physically located in Texas.

Benefits and limitations

Telehealth offers private, convenient access to specialized care from the comfort of your home on your phone, tablet, or computer. However, video visits have inherent technical limitations and may not be appropriate for every clinical situation. In emergency situations or if higher-level care is required, in-person medical evaluation is necessary.

Emergency procedures

This practice does not provide 24/7 crisis or emergency care. If you are experiencing a mental health emergency or thoughts of harming yourself, call or text 988 immediately, or dial 911.

Secure platform and consent signing

All clinical visits, insurance verification, and scheduling are managed securely through our HIPAA-compliant scheduling and patient portal. Prior to your first appointment, you will review and sign the electronic Telehealth Informed Consent and practice policies directly within the secure patient portal.

Your rights

You may discontinue telehealth services at any time and request referral options for in-person care. You are encouraged to discuss any questions regarding your treatment or consent directly with your clinician.
